Vikings Rugby Club – Building Community Through Rugby

Welcome to the 2025/26 Season
Dear Parents,

We’re excited to kick off another fantastic season at North Edinburgh Vikings Rugby Club! The 2025/26 season promises plenty of rugby, community spirit, and opportunities for every player to grow and thrive.

Your #1 Resource – Pitchero
This year we want to make it crystal clear: everything runs through Pitchero. It’s the hub for fixtures, training schedules, team news, documents, and more. The Pitchero app is excellent – quick, easy to use, and keeps you up to date in real time. Please download it today and check it regularly. Your Year Group Managers are all volunteers, and have such a big role and you can make it much easier by responding via PH! It’s the best way to stay connected.

Important Resources
- Code of Conduct – please read and share with your child.
- Concussion Guidelines – SRU protocols plus the IRB’s handy app.
- Safeguarding Policy – protecting every player is our priority.
- Kit Shop – contact your Year Group Manager (YGM) for playing shirts.

Our Vikings Spirit
We’re proud to bring together players from 15 different schools across North Edinburgh. Our mission is simple: rugby for all, in a club where players develop skills, confidence, and friendships that last. We believe in competing hard, but more importantly, in learning and growing together. This year our emphasis is on playing competitive games, alongside school.

Membership Fees
Membership fees for the 2025/26 season are £145 per player. These go directly towards the hire of both venues, coaching, first aid, and ensuring a great experience for every child.

First Aid Support
We’ll again have professional first aid cover for competitive fixtures (Jan–Apr), backing up our brilliant volunteer team and giving you peace of mind.

Fundraising & Events
Venue costs are rising, so we’ll be running social events to support the club. They’re always great fun – please join in and lend a hand if you can!

Our Roots
Vikings began as a collaboration between Stew Mel and Heriot’s six years ago. We’re now a strong club in our own right, but we encourage you to stay connected to both legacy clubs – fantastic rugby communities in their own right.

Your Year Group Manager and Head Coach will guide you through the season.

Best wishes,
Kirsty McWilliam
