Final Score: North Edinburgh Vikings 34 – 52 Boroughmuir
What a thrilling, action-packed encounter! The North Edinburgh Vikings U14s took on Boroughmuir in a high-scoring, hard-fought clash that kept parents and spectators on the edge of their seats from the opening whistle to the final play. Packed with cracking tries, relentless energy, and determination, both sides showcased fantastic rugby throughout.

First Half: Tries Galore and Fast-Paced Action
The Vikings set the tone right from kick-off with a textbook catch under a deep restart. Showing superb ball retention, control, and patience, the team worked their way steadily over the halfway line and straight into the danger zone. The early pressure paid off as Henry powered over for the game's opening try, cleanly converted by Cairn.

Boroughmuir responded quickly from a 6th-minute line-out to open their account, but the Vikings immediately struck back. After kicking a penalty to touch on the 22-metre line, the forward pack put on a clinic at the ruck. Relentless pressure forced a penalty against Boroughmuir for coming in from the side, and Henry capitalised again, crossing for his second try of the match!

The back-and-forth momentum continued. Boroughmuir produced a strong run from halfway at the 13th minute to score, but the Vikings kept pushing. Solid defensive stands from Boroughmuir temporarily held the home side at bay, but after another penalty kick to touch, the Vikings launched a driving attack towards the line. Carter finished off a brilliant team effort with an excellent try, with Cairn adding the extras.

Second Half: Grit, Flair, and a Fighting Finish
Boroughmuir came out strong in the second period, stringing together a series of converted tries despite heavy defensive pressure and tireless tackling from the Vikings.

Refusing to let their heads drop, the Vikings kept fighting for every inch of pitch. In the 18th minute, a quick-thinking penalty tap-and-go saw Silas burst through the defensive line with incredible pace to touch down under pressure.

Even as Boroughmuir pushed their lead ahead in the closing stages, the Vikings saved one of the best moments for last. On the final play of the game, Silas showed fantastic determination to slice through for his second try of the half, successfully converted to round off a thrilling 34–52 spectacle.
